Bring your AI assistant to your dream journal

Tell your assistant a dream the moment you wake, and it lands in your journal with a reading. Ask what you dreamed last week, or what keeps coming back, and it answers from your own entries. You approve the connection once, and you can switch it off any time.

The 60-second version#

• Open your AI app's connector settings and choose to add a custom connector (each app names it a little differently; see the guides below).
• Paste the UnderSelf server URL.
• Sign in to UnderSelf with Google or Apple, read what the app will be able to do, and tap Approve.
• Back in your AI app, ask it about your dreams.

How does a connection work?#

Your AI app asks UnderSelf for access. UnderSelf shows you a consent page in your browser. You approve, and the app gets a key that opens only your dream journal, nothing else in your account.

What can you ask?#

Once connected, your assistant has six tools. You never need to name them; just talk the way you normally would.

• Save a dream. "Log this dream: I was in my old school and the stairs kept going up." Your assistant uses record_dream, and by default you get a reading back.
• Get a fresh reading. "Give me another reading of that dream." This is analyze_dream.
• Open one dream. "Show me the dream about the lighthouse and its reading." This is get_dream.
• Look back. "What did I dream this week?" This is list_dreams.
• Search. "Have I dreamed about water before?" This is search_dreams.
• See the bigger picture. "What patterns do you see in my dreams?" This is get_patterns, with your recent chapter, how often you record, and your Inner Map.

See everything you can ask for, with each tool's inputs and a sample of what comes back. A reading is a reflection to think with, not advice.

Security and privacy#

• You approve it once. The consent page shows the app's name, where it sends you back to, and exactly what it will be able to do. Nothing connects until you tap Approve.
• It reaches your dream journal and nothing else. A connection can read your dreams, readings and patterns, and record new dreams and readings. It cannot delete a dream, see your payment details or change your account.
• Your plan still applies. New dreams and readings count against the same limits as the app. When you reach one, your assistant reads you a short message with a link to your options.
• You can switch it off any time. Go to app.underself.io/account, open Connected apps and tap Disconnect. Its access stops within 15 minutes. Removing the connector in your AI app also stops it, but only the Disconnect button is guaranteed to end access on our side.
• Unused connections lapse. A connection you have not used for 30 days ends by itself, and every connection ends after 90 days at most. Reconnecting takes a minute.
• Your dreams go to the AI app you chose. When your assistant reads or records a dream, that text passes through the AI app, and that app's own privacy terms cover what it keeps. Choose an assistant you already trust with personal writing.

Which AI apps work with your dream journal?#

Verified means we have connected that app ourselves and used it to save and read dreams. Standard MCP means the app supports the same open standard, so it should connect the same way, but we have not tested it end to end yet. Using something else? See any other MCP client.
