Not fully, not yet. Meta opened its Muse AI agent to outside developer connectors on September 18, 2026. UnderSelf already connects to Claude, ChatGPT and Grok, and Muse can reach the same journal through a connection key you paste in once. What we have not done is run that connection through a real morning ourselves. Here is what is verified, and what is not.
What did Meta announce at Meta Connect 2026?
Meta held its Connect keynote September 23 and 24, 2026, in Menlo Park. Mark Zuckerberg announced a new VR headset arriving spring 2027, a wearable called the Muse Charm pendant, and a third generation of Ray-Ban Meta glasses, as Tom's Guide reported live from the keynote. Days earlier, on September 18, Meta had already opened Muse to third party developer connectors, the piece that matters here, letting outside apps like UnderSelf plug into Muse the way they already plug into Claude, ChatGPT or Grok.
What is a Muse connector, and what is a connection key?
A connector is the bridge between an assistant and an app it was never built to know about, in this case your dream journal. It runs on an open standard called the Model Context Protocol, and it only opens once you say yes. A connection key is how UnderSelf grants that permission: a code you generate on your account page and paste into the assistant instead of signing in with a password. It is shown once, lasts ninety days, and stops working within five minutes of a revoke. For Muse, that key goes into Muse's custom connector setting, pointed at the server address `https://api.underself.io/mcp`.
What happens to an evening spent in an immersive headset?
A headset asks something specific of a wind down that a phone or a show does not. The display sits inches from your eyes, closer than most screens, and it fills your whole field of view with a world you have to keep paying attention to, right up until you take it off. None of that makes an evening session a mistake. It just means you are stepping out of a whole built world right before bed, which is a different exit than closing a book.
Some people who spend an evening in a headset say that night's dreams feel unusually vivid. That fits an old idea about dreaming: whatever filled your attention before sleep tends to come back, reshaped, in the dream. What does not change is how fast it fades. A dream from a VR night disappears at the same speed as any other dream once you are awake and moving. The content might be shaped by the headset. The vanishing act is not.
Can Muse log a dream the next morning?
Here is what a connected assistant can already do with UnderSelf, verified on Claude, ChatGPT and Grok: log a dream you tell it and get a reading, list your recent dreams, search across them, and ask what keeps coming back. Muse should be able to do the same thing once a connection key is in place. Should is the honest word. UnderSelf has not completed a Muse run ourselves yet, so we are not calling this one confirmed the way the other three are.
