What this is
A breathwork session
A breathwork session guides a room through a patterned sequence of breathing, often faster and more continuous than everyday breath, usually done lying down with eyes closed while a facilitator talks the group through each round. Music or ambient sound often plays underneath the instructions. Sensations during the practice vary widely from person to person, from tingling in the hands to a strong urge to yawn or stretch, and facilitators generally walk newcomers through what to expect before the breathing begins. Most sessions end with several minutes of quiet rest.
Wear loose clothing, let the facilitator know about any health concerns beforehand, and expect to lie down for most of the session.
